BIOGRAPHY
After moving from Switzerland to Naumburg,Germany, Philipp Hutter studied at the Special School of Music in Halle. He studied with Max Sommerhalder in Detmold and completed his „Soloist Masters“ under Frits Damrow in Amster-dam and Zurich.
Philipp Hutter is a prize winner of various competitions including the „Yamaha Foundation of Europe“, the „Lions Club Competition“ Germany and the german national competition „Jugend musiziert“. In 2010 he won the „Audience Award“ at the winners concert of the Musical Olympus Foundation in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
As a soloist, he has performed in renowned concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Salle Gaveau( Paris,),Hermitage( St Petersburg), Wigmore Hall London, Tonhalle Zurich, as well as the KKL Luzern.
He continues to perform as a soloist and chamber musician in various ensembles. He regulary gives master classes at the Universities of Stockholm, Seoul, Verona, Sao Paolo, Tallinn, Medellin, der Musikakademie Basel und der Hochschule Luzern. He is also a coach of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra.
Philipp Hutter has played in renowned orchestras such as the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Brass Ensemble, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Zurich Opera House and various other orchestras. At the age of only 23 years, he won the principal trumpet position in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
Conducting:
From 2020-2023 Philipp studied Master of Conducting with Clemens Heil at the University of Music in Lucerne. Since then he had the chance to conduct renown Orchestras such as the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Chamberorchestra of the Lucerne Symphony, the Lucerne Festival Strings, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Brass Ensemble of the Verbier Festival Orchestra. He participated in Masterclasses with conductors such as Bernhard Haitink, James Gaffigan and Jonathan Bloxham. 2021 he was assistant from Michael Wendeberg at the oper in Halle(Saale). In 2022 he was appointed as Music Director of the Annual Opera Production at the University of Music in Lucerne. He also conducted contemporary world premiers by young uprising composers like Aregnaz Martirosyan and Alsu Nigmatullina.
